Oxford Sports Council

The Oxford Sports Council is a not for profit organisation that aims to improve the participation and excellence in sport within the city of Oxford.

The Oxford Sports Council in its current format was founded in 1979 at a meeting involving leading members of different sports clubs, Oxford City Council and the University of Oxford. Since then Oxford Sports Council has been actively engaged in developing new ideas and activities to promote and support local sport.

The Oxford Sports Council  awards grants to voluntary, not for profit and amateur sports clubs, organisations and individuals who are registered and operate within the city of Oxford.

The Oxford Sports Council has been actively engaged in developing new ideas and activities to promote and support local sport since 1979.

Oxford Sports Council make grants to support the development of individuals and clubs based in the City of Oxford and supports the Town vs Gown competitions between Oxford's Universities and Oxford city based Sports Clubs.
