Our Focus

Grants

We give grants to Oxford City Clubs, Coaches and Individuals. Click HERE to download word guidance and application form. 

In 2021 we had 24 applications to our Bounce Back into Activity fund. Seventeen of the applications were successful and ranged from American football to athletics, gymnastics, badminton and cricket. A summer picnic is being organised for late August to hear  from the successful groups how their projects went.

In 2020 clubs who were the successful in gaining monies from our Special Grants fund were:
Oxford Community Table Tennis Club,
Oxford City Athletics Club, Oxford University Pistol Club, Oxford University Gliding Club, Oxford Cricket Club, Body Politic. Further information on these awards can be found in the impact section.

The 2019  Special Grants were awarded to Oxenford Cricket Club (£850), KEEN (£10,000) and Falcon Kayak and Rowing Club (£16060). Each group will send through updates on how they are spending the funding and the progress of heir projects in the coming months.

Town V Gown

 We oversee the annual Town V Gown Competitions between Oxford University and Town Teams. 

In 2016 we introduced a new triangular tournament featuring six sports and involving Oxford University,  and Oxford Brookes University competing against Town teams.

We aim to improve the participation and excellence in sport in Oxford.

Aims
• To increase membership of Oxford City clubs
• To promote sporting excellence amongst individuals within city clubs
• To develop club links with the schools and with the community
• To promote more sporting activity for junior as well as adults
• To increase the quantity and quality of coaches and officials
• To support long term sporting benefit particularly for the underrepresented community groups.
Oxford Sports Council is happy to support - 
• Sports clubs and organisations within the boundary of the City of Oxford.
• Individuals representing a sports club within the boundary of the City of Oxford.
• Oxford city resident individuals representing sport at Oxfordshire County level and above.
