Some information about the club-
South Oxford Bowls Club was formed in 1906 and has been a self supporting club to date. Our revenue comes from an annual subscription of club members and charges made for all games on our two greens.  We have a substantial site to maintain, including 2 greens, a clubhouse, which has had numerous ad hoc extentions and needs continual maintenance. Our 2 greens are annually maintained by ourselves and specialist contractors, to the sum of around £16,000 per year. In addition to this, our site (which is extensive) is rented from Oxford City Council and is in a conservation area, which includes a car park, a lake, and numerous trees and hedges.
Most of the members are either retired or semi-retired, who find this facility keeps them active in sport, some into their 90's. This is also invaluable to people who have lost partners and need a continuing social connection into their later years. However, we do have a number of working members who are able to participate in league and weekend county games some of which represent Oxfordshire County. We have one member who won County Champion of Champions.

The club is open to membership for anyone, male, female, adult and youth.
